Even though the focus is on individuals, it has to be put into the right perspective. Without a venue, the individuals and their different roles do not matter…

The metaphor of the tent organization originates from a circus coming to town. The tent needs to be raised to make it possible for the individuals to perform. Without the tent, it does not matter what individual that are present or what roles they represent – there is no venue to perform in!

So, everyone helps to raise the tent, and when this is done everyone can go into their different roles. Everybody has a role to play, and all roles count. The complete business is the main priority, not the unit, not the function, and not the individual.

To make it work it is crucial that the right individuals are recruited – only joggers, runners and drivers on the bus. The ground rule is to hire tough to be able to manage easy!
