Boldly move ahead with a great strategy and plan, finally achieve the set goals

PAAM Systems has a Chinese calligraphy sitting on the wall. It was made in 2015 by the artist Cao Yingwang, and was presented as an encouragement to the company from the artist and it carries a very special meaning.

The Latinized reading of the Chinese signs are “dà zhǎn hóng tú” and means that someone opens a big size picture scroll. The words were expressed by the poet Han Yu during the 9th century, in the time of the Dang Dynasty.  They comprised ancient wisdom in its own time and they are still as valid as ever.

"Dà zhǎn hóng tú"

They can be understood literally but mostly the expression is used to encourage someone, or an enterprise, taking on a big task or boldly moving ahead with a great strategy and plan to finally achieve the set goals.

When the calligraphy on our wall was made the company was just about to move to new facilites, getting prepared for the future as it was expected then. Since we are always on the move, strategically, culturally and businesswise, we will over time, face new big changes and we keep this piece of art in our office letting it remind us of encouraging friends around the world as well as our own ambitions and the need for big efforts and boldness to achieve our goals.

So, as you consider the words of this ancient poet, try to find their meaning for yourself. Find your own big scroll to open. Whether it’s solving a programming problem, a mechanical task, finding the right angle for your next client meeting or whatever it may be.

Feel encouraged and know that others who have opened big scrolls, not really knowing what they would face, have often been successful and prosperous.
