It all fits together

Regardless of where you start, even if the next step will lead to another aspect, after a while you will se it. You’re in the Ethical Value Web.

We talk about Core Values, Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, Ethical Policy, Work Philosophy, Quality and Environmental Policy, Respect, Principles of Action …….. the list is long.

All of these are expressions of who we are inside and how we have decided to live together. For the good of our selves and nature, and in order to serve each other best. Much of what we take for granted and think is fundamental, are ancient human attitudes and beliefs based on collective experience and knowledge of social order and constructions. But we also have to understand that what in one time and in one cultural sphere can be seen as self-evident, at the same time and in another cultural sphere it is not valued at all. There may even be directly opposing views on the same thing. This naturally leads to contradictions and you can ask yourself who is right.

Although one must have respect for others and try to understand ways of thinking other than one’s own, one must also learn to know one’s own world of thought and, based on that knowledge, relate to what may seem deviant or contrary. In the end, you have to choose to hold on to what you have or be open and let your own attitude and understanding be influenced, broadened and perhaps improved in the encounter with what was previously difficult to understand. This is how ethics and culture develop.

How we choose to describe our chosen approaches to different areas of life and in everyday life must be divided and detailed so that it becomes understandable and clearly guiding, but everything has the same core and together constitutes our Ethical Value Web.
