The principles of the 5S is applicable to almost anything we do. Applied to our business life, the result is nothing short of amazing.

The principles of the Five S’s were originally developed for the physical working place in a car factory. They are however applicable to almost anything we do, and they have deep cultural roots that goes back thousands of years.

The meaning of the Japanese words beginning with an S translated directly to English as you can see here, are similar to, or captures the essence of the correct translation.

Even if we do not assemble cars coming down an automated line, we can still apply the Five S’s to our business and our daily actions.

If we allow ourselves to be reactive, we will not be able to control our process and steer in the direction we chose. We will soon live under constant stress and it will severly affect our freedom and our prosperity.

Applying the Five S structure to our daily business life will significantly elevate the efficiency of our activites. Not only will we improve the outcome of our spent working hours, we will also have a better feeling, provide better conditons for good health and strengthen the economy of our company, thus provding a more secure delivery of products and services to our customers.

Mumbo-jumbo? Not at all, just simple common sense.
